It’s probably not the best time to be writing a post about Think Visibility as I’m pretty shattered after spending a long weekend in Leeds but it’s now or never. Once again Dom and his team have pulled off a great conference along with two brilliant parties. I must admit that I didn’t attend many sessions as most of the day was spent catching up with new and old friends but I can say that it has been a great few days. The sessions at conferences rarely tempt me to sit and listen to them as it’s someone else talking about what we do all day long. I will tend to go to sessions if I think I will learn something new, or if I want to show support to a speaker. I know that may sound odd but it may just be that being married to Dave and running Bronco I seem to absorb a huge amount of information and be quite up to date with new techniques. I also find you can learn more just by talking to a whole range of different people.
Now that the kids are getting older it’s easier to be able to get away with Dave to go to conferences that he is speaking at, and so far this year we have been to London Affiliate Conference in January which is focused towards the gaming sector, then SES London in February which is a broad search marketing conference and then to Think Visibility this weekend. It’s not the sessions that I find the reason why the conference is a success but purely the people that are pulled together, that you can spend lots of time with talking work, but also getting to know them better. A conference is a success to me when it is organised in such a way to allow people to easily network and have good conversations.
People tend to go to conferences to come away with some top take away tips that they can action to make their websites a greater success. I was trying to think about what I have learnt this weekend and there is certainly a couple that springs to mind and I’m sure many of you who shared the laughs this weekend will concur.
